How Would It Be Detected?
Somatic cell count of milk is the most important symptom for subclinical mastitis detection. Increase in somatic cell count would increase the electrical conductivity of milk. Somatic cell count would be determined by examination of samples taken from animal udder. Increase in somatic cell count would determine the degree of mastitis.
